Bye Bye Mr. Fear

Max Lucado is one of the best communicators alive today. In his book, Fear Not For I Am With You Always,  he writes and I quote, "Fear never wrote a symphony or poem, negotiated a peace treaty, or cured a disease. Fear never pulled a family out of poverty or a country out of bigotry.
FEAR NEVER SAVED A MARRIAGE OR A BUSINESS. COURAGE DID THAT!
           FAITH DID THAT!
People who refused to consult or cower to their timidities did that. But fear itself? Fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors.
WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO WALK OUT?

Now you have heard what Max had to say, this is what I'm telling you right now, "Listen up Mr. Fear, Perfect Love lives within me now. You don't have a place to dwell within in me anymore! It's time for you to go away."

PERSISTENCE

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with tatent. Genius will not; unrecorded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not;  the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. -Calvin Coolidge
This is now my new favorite quote. I'm a collector, you know. I also just returned from another trip to LA, California to participate in a book to screen pitchfest. What an honor to be asked to attend and present Catcoon to seven Hollywood Executives to arouse their interest in making this text into a cartoon. It was a positive experience.  Even though they concluded that my theme has saturated the current market, they thought the idea should be developed further into children's picture books. Throughout the entire event the word persistence kept popping up in conversations. Another line I collected is, "Hollywood execs are as patient as a two year old in need of a nap." But for those of us that claim to be writers, we just have to put on our big girl panties and keep on writing and submitting and writing and writing. This is an important life lesson. Do what you love and love what you do, forever. That is the reward.
