PLATFORM STATEMENT: Positive self esteem comes from knowing in your heart that you have worth. Loving your children gives them that knowledge and empowers them to be loving to others and propels them into positive behavior. The simple story of Catcoon shows that what really makes him Super is not all the super deeds he performs but that he has personal worth for being loved just as he is.
Keep dreaming and making those dreams come true because the whole world needs YOU!
Catcoon, imaginary Super-Hero, became a story after Logan and his classmates went on a field trip to a place that rescues injured wildlife. He was laate to the lecture given by one of the animal handlers about raccoons. She was holding the animal and it was playing with her clip-on microphone. All Logan heard was, "Playful as a cat.......coon". He ran to his mother and announced he now knew everything about catcoons. Later, at home, he was jumping off the stairs and doing incredibly brave things when his mother said, "Logan, stop that". He turned to her and stated, "I'm not LOGAN, I AM CATCOON!" From this declaration began the adventures of Catcoon, The Super-Hero.
Logan and his grandma wrote this story together. She illustrated the story using Logan as the model. This is the first story for Logan Henry Bowers, but not his last. LORAC, also known as Carol Welty Roper, is a published author and poet. This is her first illustration project. She started drawing while accompanying her son and family on a trip to China to adopt their daughter Esther. Being surrounded by baby girls, she began drawing portraits of the babies and from there became fascinated with childen's faces and antics. Logan and Esther are two of her thirteen grandchildren.
