Hurray, I am home and back to writing. While I was in Oklahoma I was able to conduct some indepth research on a book titled 40 Days with Ruth. It is another book not in the original trilogy. A big thank you goes to Laura Martin at the Oklahoma Historical Society for all her assistance.
It was so good to go home to Duncan. Much to my surprise there were many people at Hastings Bookstore for the book signing. Hastings is a great place to buy books, music, kids books and toys and used books. They treated me well. Thanks, Hasting's staff. I was able to go to the Chishom Trail Museum and found some good books on Stephens County which will also help with the research for my story about a woman in Oklahoma.
I was able to have a book signing and dinner party in Oklahoma City. I was able to prepare and serve several dishes that are featured in the novel, Tilly's Song. A special thanks goes to Nancy and Fred Thompson in Oklahoma City for their support.
Friends from St. Stephens Church were there. There was time to visit with friends: Cathy, Nic and Louise Lowry, and Pam and Del Humphrey, Cheryl and Royce Weddle, Josh and Miranda and their girls. It was good to see you all. A very special thanks goes to Patsy and Jacob Kuhn for hosting me while I was in Oklahoma. You are the best.
My travels took me to Omaha, Nebraska, where my sister and brother-in-law live. Marti, my sister, had done the leg work before I arrived and allowed me to have two very successful book signings while in Nebraska. A very special thank you to the bookstore, Divine Truth. Books are also available at the Christian bookstore, Parables in Omaha.
On the way home, I stopped over in Denver, CO, and stayed with our daughter Bonnie and her husband Art. Both have been very helpful and supportive with this whole book promotion. Art has designed my web-site and Bonnie has become my travel agent. Thank you my loves. Oh, did I fail to mention they have also provided me with absolutely adorable grandchildren? Well, they have and I love 'um! I love all my children and grandchildren. Phil and I are blessed with 13.
I arrived home just in time to help Phil, my husband, dress out and package half a moose. Our son David harvested one this year and was kind enough to share it with us. We now have plenty of meat for the winter and some to share with others. What a blessing.
My life is truly blessed. My hope is that the whatever my Lord has me write will be a blessing to all who choose to read it. Thank you all for your support in my writing adventure.
